The 23 Ultimate Steps Of Life

Just finished reading Pain-Free Arthritis.
In combining the steps from the book with things I've learned from CBT, I've come up with "23 ULTIMATE STEPS OF LIFE", which I shall endeavor to incorporate into my life. It seems just a weeeeeeeeee bit on the high-maintenance side, yah! Well hey,now I know why elderly people are slow and bitchy, because being in constant pain sucks total and complete ass. To turn my life around (which I've been working on for some years now already), requires some obvious major alterations to my conventional ways of thinking.

Anyways, the steps are as follows:

1. Exercise 45 min. daily.
2. Keep an exercise journal.
3. Apply moist heat to pain.
4. Sleep at least 7 hrs. a night.
5. Keep a diet and weight journal.
6. Take supplements/vitamins.
7. Set weight loss goals and calculate intake.
8. Avoid animal foods.
9. Avoid nightshade plants (peppers, tomatoes, eggplant).
10. Eat healing foods and a balanced diet (to include broccoli, grapes, green tea, fish w/omega 3 oils, pineapple, soy, whole grains, fruits & vegetables, blueberries, walnuts, pumpkin, squash, and beans).
11. Pace yoruself.
12. Take time to rest.
13. Get massage therapy.
14. Do yoga.
15. Engage in positive, pleasant thinking.
16. Practice relaxation responses and stress reduction techniques.
17. Take medication (NSAIDs) for pain.
18. Learn new things often.
19. Read and discuss what you read.
20. Have social contact, becasue isolation is bad for the brain.
21. Learn to play a musical instrument.
22. Make art.
23. Use cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to decrease anxiety and stress.
